Is there a project that you’ve been wanting to start but haven’t yet? Would hiring some help you get this project off the ground? Both starting a project and hiring a new employee are huge tasks in it of themselves, but they don’t need to be.

There are many programs out there that are offering wage subsidies and funding to help connect you with eager individuals who want experience and can help you. Here are just a few that you can look into if you’re from BC, Canada:
- Get Youth Working!
The Get Youth Working Program helps connect youth aged 17-29 with employers. Hiring youth through this program allows your company to onboard talented individuals who may not have years of on-the-job experience but are ambitious, eager and can inject some fresh and innovative ideas into your company.
You can receive up to $2800 in wage subsidies for hiring a youth individual through this program. The program also offers up to $1000 in funding for short-term certificate training as well.
At Systems Business Coach®, we’ve used this program in the past to hire a student to help us get some projects done that were left on the backburner.
2. Experience Matters!
The Experience Matters Program aims to connect individuals aged 55+ with employers who are wanting to grow their team with experienced and mature workers. There are many mature workers who aren’t ready to leave the workforce just yet. Bringing in someone with years of accumulated experience can expand your company’s knowledge base and they can be a great addition to your company’s team.
This program is similar to the Get Youth Working program in that it also provides up to $2800 in wage subsidies and up to $1000 in funding for short-term certificate training.
If you are from British Columbia I highly encourage you to take a look at these programs and see if they align with your business’s needs.
